Change of mind

We'll happily exchange or refund most items within 30 days of purchase, provided they're unused, unwashed, and in original condition with tags and packaging intact.

  • Proof of purchase required (receipt, order confirmation, or card statement)
  • Original packaging and any included accessories must be included
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
Not eligible for change-of-mind return: ridden or fitted bicycles, cut or installed cabling and hoses, opened nutrition and hygiene products, and custom or special-order parts.

Bicycles

New bikes may be exchanged or refunded within 14 days if unridden, with pedals, tags, and protective packaging still in place. Once a bike has left the store assembled and ridden, it's covered by warranty rather than change-of-mind return — this is a safety and hygiene standard across the industry, not just ours.

A restocking fee of up to 15% may apply to full assembly and setup already carried out on a returned bike.

Faulty or incorrect items

Under Australian Consumer Law, you're entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if an item has a major fault, doesn't match its description, or isn't fit for its intended purpose — regardless of the 30-day window above. Minor faults may be repaired within a reasonable time.

This applies to bicycles, components, and accessories alike. Bring the item in with proof of purchase and we'll assess it on the spot or send it to the relevant brand for warranty review.

Online orders & shipping costs

Online orders can be returned to Giant Canning Vale in person, or posted back to us. For change-of-mind returns, you're responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to us, and original delivery charges on the order are non-refundable — this is standard practice and consistent with the Australian Consumer Law, which doesn't require a retailer to cover return freight or refund delivery fees when a customer simply changes their mind.

We recommend using a tracked service for change-of-mind returns, as we aren't responsible for items lost or damaged in transit before they reach us.

Faulty items are different: if gear is genuinely faulty, we cover reasonable shipping both ways — getting it back to us, and sending your replacement or repaired item back out — in line with our ACL obligations. Pay postage upfront to return it, and we'll reimburse that cost once the fault is confirmed.

Bikes are sold and fitted in-store only and aren't shipped, so this section covers gear and accessories.

The Muc-Off Tubeless Rim Tape is made from proprietary performance material with a pressure-sensitive adhesive to provide just the right amount of stretch whilst maintaining thedurability and strength needed to create a lasting airtight seal.It's semi-transparent material makes locating the valve hole easy. Supplied with 4x Seal Patches. Available in a 10m roll in 6 widths to suit most Road, CX, Gravel, MTB and Plus-sized rims.

What size Rim Tape Do I Need?

The Tubeless Rim Tape that you go for should be matched up with the size of your wheel's internal rim width. You should be able to find this measurement on the inside of your rim, or alternatively check your bike's manufacturer's guide online. Failing that, it's time to dig out a trusty ruler and measure it yourself!

If your rim width doesn't match up exactly with our sizes below, just go for the next size up.

As a general guide:

  • Road/Gravel (17 & 21mm)
  • XC/Trail (25mm)
  • DH/Enduro (28 & 30mm)
  • DH/Enduro Wide (35mm)

How To?
  1. First up, clean your rim using our Glue & Selant remover to get rid of any unwanted residue that might be left behind from a previous setup
  2. Select the correct sized rim tape to match up with the width of your wheel's rim (check out our guide above)
  3. Locate the valve hole
  4. Peel back some of your Rim Tape and begin to apply and press down on the opposite side to your valve hole
  5. With your thumb holding down the tape, lightly peel the tape back and continue to press down to ensure you've got a firm bond with the rim itself
  6. Rotate the wheel around as you continue to apply the tape
  7. Once you've gone all the way around the rim, continue on to create an overlap of around 10 - 15cms
  8. Cut the tape at a 45 degree angle and press the edge down
  9. Check for any air bubbles and gaps, ensuring to press down firmly if you do spot any
  10. Apply the finishing patch over the edge of the tape to ensure a firm seal
  11. Push the valve through the rim hole and secure with the 'O' ring and locking ring
  12. Refit the tyre and inflate - you're now ready to add your sealant!
